Jase Brown

Jase Rylan Brown holds a Master’s of Music degree in Classical Guitar Performance from Arizona State University.

Originally from Houston, Texas, he was awarded a graduate scholarship and served as Arizona State University’s classical guitar teaching assistant from 2013-2015. While at ASU, he performed annual solo recitals, conducted multiple student ensembles, and provided classroom and private instruction to students at the University. He moved to San Antonio after completing his master’s, where he remains an active performer and teacher both locally and in the surrounding hill country area.

His teachers include Guitar Foundation of America winner Marc Teicholz (San Francisco Conservatory of Music), Dr. Matthew Dunne (University of Texas at San Antonio), and Fulbright Scholar Frank Koonce (Arizona State University).

Jase has been performing professionally since 2005. He regularly plays at a variety of venues, including restaurants, special donor and fundraising events, wedding ceremonies, baby and bridal showers, chamber concerts, and solo recitals. He has performed in master classes for Ricardo Cobo, William Kanengiser, Massimo Delle Cese, Pavel Steidl, Judicaël Perroy, Berta Rojas, and the Grammy Award-winning guitarist Jason Vieaux.

Jase uses an individualized approach to his lessons. He tailors each one according to his student’s current playing needs and musical interests. If you can’t stop thinking about a certain classical guitar piece or a song you heard on the radio, bring it to your lesson! Since he believes it’s important to be excited about what you’re playing, he is happy to do transcriptions of popular music for his guitar students.
