Andrea Salter

Andrea began piano when she was 6 and took 10 years of classical instruction. At the age of 14, she began learning chordal and improvisational piano. She was involved in high school UIL competitions as a vocalist and a piano accompanist for other competitors. She also participated in numerous other singing, playing, and recording engagements spanning 34 years.

Andrea began accompanying church choirs at the age of 14 and helped develop, lead, play piano, and sing for church worship ministries over the past two decades. Her musical contributions include countless weddings, funerals, retreats, mission trips, and community service opportunities, including music ministry in nursing homes, rehabilitation hospitals, and prisons.

As a 9-year-old, Andrea felt God’s calling to set aside her family for the purpose of worship to God. She believed in and pursued that vision. Since then, her five children have been involved in that calling in unique ways. Her husband, Don, is actively involved in the ministry through sound engineering and recording. Andrea’s great delight is instructing children and adults in traditional and improvisational piano to facilitate their worship, thus passing on her love of music and God to many others. Andrea has taught piano for the past twenty years.

Andrea graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. She worked for 10 years in labor and delivery as a staff nurse and charge nurse at Seton Medical Center in Austin.

Beyond the realm of music, Andrea also loves poetry, cooking, and home-schooling, for the past 13 years. The greatest joy of her life is knowing she was created to honor her Creator through worship of which He is so worthy. She joyfully and passionately gives music back in gratitude to God Who gave it to her.
