Rosa Dobies

Rosa comes to us from California, where she taught extensively. Like many students, Rosa started her violin training in the public school system and played in local youth orchestras, while also studying privately. After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University, Rosa had the opportunity to work with the Juilliard String Quartet, who was in residency at the time. She went on to receive a Master’s degree in Applied Violin from the University of Houston, studying under Fredell Lack. Throughout her many years of training, she has taught students of all levels from beginners to advanced. Her expertise also provided her the opportunity to teach at the College of St. Benedict and Wichita State University. She teaches in the traditional method of violin and works with students of all ages. Rosa believes learning the violin should be a “valuable and rewarding” experience and can be enjoyed by anyone who loves music and is willing to put forth the effort.
